NEAR MISS & POTENTIAL INCIDENT

Postby colliers on Tue Nov 17, 2009 12:26 pm

To all Safety practitioners , what's the difference between neaar miss and potential incident?

Can you give me brief discussion with this, I get confussed.

Before my company focussed on near miss, now my new company focuss on potential incident.

It's almost the same right?

In Accident / Incident triangle do you have potential accident their?

is near miss = to potential incident?

Please help...

Sorry for this late reply....There's really a big difference between Near Miss and Potential Incident.

Potential Incident is the RISK that an accident/incident may happen due to an UNSAFE Act or Condition. While Near Miss is the ACCIDENT HAPPENED but no harm was done. :D

I hope this states it clearly....
